Frequently Asked QuestionsIs Trade to Save just for bartering? No, barter is only one option, Trade to Save enables you to sell, exchange or barter any goods and services. Is Trade to Save for business or personal use? It's for both, business to business, private individual to private individual or business to private individual. This allows members to maximise the combination of available opportunities for all parties. Do I have to sign any membership contract? No, there is no membership contract or annual fees. Will my listing expire at a given time ? No, your listing remains permanent until you choose to remove it. This is because we are not an auction site and many of the products or services listed are ongoing, such as a painting service or accommodation. If you list a "one off" item, then this needs to be removed once the item is sold or traded. Can I list my personal or company details? Full members can enter their company name and upload their business logo using the "My trade to Save" menu. These details will be displayed in the company details box at the top of each of your adverts and in the Business Listings page. Business names or other contact details such as web addresses are not permitted in the ad title or in the description of your product or service. When bartering, do I need a card or special barter currency? No, any bartering you do, is based on original bartering where you exchange any combination of actual product, services or money. Barter currency is not required as members negotiate their own trading arrangements based on the need and value of the items on offer. What about Tax? As with any other on-line trade site, the informal exchange of product or services on a non-commercial basis will not usually incur tax, except in certain circumstances. If you operate as a business, you should be aware of any tax obligations. Bartering can provide significant tax savings as shown in our barter model. For more information on tax Click here to view our Business Bartering Tax Guide. How can I trust the other party I'm dealing with? Making contact on-line is no different to contacting people through the yellow pages or news paper so you should treat your on-line communications in the same way. We have put together some Safe Trading Tips that may be helpful with your on-line trading. What's the cost? Trade to save will operate the site for free until our membership reaches a sufficient volume where users will receive more value by having a greater selection of available offerings. Once a sufficient amount of membership is reached, a small fee will be charged as shown in our fees section. Casual membership will always be free. Are my contact details kept private? Absolutely, Trade to Save respects our members privacy and we will NOT hand out any personal details or email addresses of our members as stated in the terms of our Privacy Policy statement .
